Internship
ABOUT
In Summer 2023, I had the wonderful opportunity to intern at Chick-fil-A's corporate support center as a Restaurant Design Intern. I work in the Future & Formats team within the Restaurant Design department and was able to work with and learn from extremely creative and talented designers. My main projects over the the summer were to work on the Design Strategy capability as well as the Environmental Graphic Design capability. My main deliverables are featured here!
Strategy Capability
My main project throughout my internship was working with my mentor, Jennifer Abernathy-Felix, on Chick-fil-A's Design Strategy team within Restaurant Design. I had several whiteboarding sessions with my mentor to hone in on the future of Strategy Capability, what it looks like, and how to visualize and communicate it. By the end of my internship, I not only had an aesthetic, comprehensive visual, but also an in-depth understanding of design strategy.
Environmental
Graphic Design
My secondary project from my internship was working with Ellen Spurlock who heads Chick-fil-A's Environmental Graphic Design (EGD) capability. Ellen was hoping to create a presentation that would spark more interest and engagement in EGD. We created a storytelling presentation that captivated the Restaurant Design team visually and emotionally.
End of Internship Presentation
At the end of my internship, I created a presentation that summarized my work and takeaways from my internship that I presented to the entire Restaurant Design team. This presentation highlighted my main tangible deliverables as well as all of the intangible takeaway from my internship.
